Do you pin?

As if I do not have enough things to distract me, in July Ms. Pillowz introduced me to a website called Pinterest.  Pinterest is a virtual pin board.  I have actual pin boards in my room with future goals, current goals and things to keep me focused on those goals.  I wonder if she knew that I am a sucker for pin boards.
So I clicked on the link and it told me that I must have an invitation to the site as there are already many users.  Ms. Pillowz sent me an invitation and a few moments later I was on the site.  I skipped the intro and dove right in.  I look around and realized that I should have NOT skipped the intro.  The site is confusing at first but then after a while you get the hang of it and you’re hooked.
Why would you use Pinterest?  I am in the process of remodeling my room, getting rid of the old and onto the new.  On this site I have found ideas, organizational techniques and the greatest part is if I see something I know will work in my bedroom, I click on it and it sends me to the site where I can purchase it. If you’re creative you have access to tons of DIY projects.  If you are planning a wedding, there are tons of ideas for inspiration.  If you share a love of art, there are pins for you. If you are trying to pick your next vacation, there are tons of ideas of locations to view.  If you’re a photographer looking for ideas for some really great shots, this can be one of the places to find inspiration  Looking for yummy recipes, yup you guessed it, you can find that to on Pinterest. Another nice feature is that if you see something you like on a website, you can pin it to your board by copying the URL and adding it to the pin under the ADD column.  How great is it to have everything pinned on a board so you can revisit it later?!
The site is really simple.  First create your boards, or if you didn’t skip the tutorial, you can use their suggestions.  Follow suggested boards to start. ‘Pinboards you follow’ links you to different pins. I personally like clicking on the EVERYTHING link, then picking my category and pinning away.  Hover the mouse over the object you’d like to pin to your board, click on the repin icon in the top left hand corner, a pop up window will appear, the drop down shows you the boards you have currently, click on the one you’d like the pin to appear on.  If there isn’t a board yet for it then you can scroll down to the last option of the drop down and Create A New Board.  When you are done with that click PIN and you’re done.  It should return you to your prior page of pins to surf.
If you request an invitation from the website and get told no, then shoot me your email to
djrelat7@gmail.com with the word pinterest in the subject and your email address in the body and I will send you an invitation to the site.    Happy Pinning!

Shutter Island

Mark Ruffalo and Leonardo DiCaprio are excellent in this movie.  Of course supported my a creative cast.  I began watching this movie expecting to be scared out of my mind.  However it was nothing of what I had expected.  It was better!  A total twist in the plot had me looking dumbfounded at the TV screen, I never saw it coming.  That is why, if you haven’t seen it already, it should be rented tonight.  Its so appropriate and not your typical horror flick.  At the end I was left satisfied which seems to happen less and less these days.  Let me know how you like it in the comment section below.

Until then,
Happy Halloween and BE SAFE!

When in Rome

This romantic comedy features Kristen Bell and Josh Duhamel.  If love were as easy as throwing a coin into a wishing well, we’d all visit Italia.  Rome is the backdrop as Kristen’s character flies there to partake in her sister’s wedding.  After a series of unfortunate events occur, a drunken, disappointed in love,  Beth, grabs a handful of coins from the fountain of love and strange things begin to happen once she’s back home in New York City.  What happens when you take someone’s coin from the wishing well?  Rent the DVD this Friday night to find out and be prepared to laugh!

Let me know what you think in the comment section below.

Daybreakers

Featuring Ethan Hawke, as the Vampire who searches for a way to help find a cure to the troublesome dilemma, a low human blood supply.  Imagine that, a world full of vampires; the handful of humans left are either in hiding or hooked up to blood draining machines in the pharmaceutical company that Ethan’s character works for.  Which one would you rather be?
If you are looking for an alternate to the Vampire Sucks Movie, then this dvd might be just the thing for you this Friday night.  You’ll definitely be entertained with this movie.  Will the human race become extinct?  Will vampires turn on each other?  Find out and let me know how you like it.

Smart People

First off I LOVE Dennis Quaid and who doesn’t LOVE Sarah Jessica Parker!  I was excited to see these to stars work together.  This story is full of laughter, love and loss, not necessarily in that order.  Oh and I cannot forget about the awkwardness of family, but who doesn’t have that right?  Enjoy this movie rental on a Saturday night with a bowl of hot lightly buttered popcorn.

Ratatouille

This was an entertaining animation.  Yes animation.  If you’re not a chartoon lover like myself perhaps this movie will change your mind.
Its an inspiring story which remind us that you can truly accomplish whatever you want to in life.  Obstacles are surely to come about as they do for Remy, but that doesn’t stop him.  So cuddle up with the kiddies or your loved one and enjoy it on this potentially rainy Friday :)

Breakfast for Dinner, YUMMINESS YES!

I hope that as the sun rises you are greeted with the most fabulous Friday ever.  With that said, may I be one of the first people to say HAPPY FRIDAY YAY! Today is the first of many postings to come of places to find some good eats.  I am sure I am not alone when I say breakfast for dinner hits the spot!

A few months ago I was introduced to Bill’s Drive-In in Monroe, CT.  Trust me when I say that I love food.  Breakfast especially.  However I am super picky about what I eat for breakfast.  Specifically how I like my eggs cooked.  Some might say its the Puerto Rican in me that likes them well done; touched with a toasty brown throughout.  So of course, as my boyfriend insisted on eating here, I was EXTREMELY skeptical!  I ordered a spinach, bacon and feta cheese omelet WELL DONE!  Can I tell you that I was sad when I was done.  Luckily for me, my dentist’s office is five minutes away from there.  So when I’m on my way to work after my visit, I stop and treat myself to that omelet.  I even stretch it out into lunch so I can savor its yumminess (yes this is a word :) )  So, if you happen to live in the vicinity of Monroe, CT I encourage you to stop in.  I believe they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, but call ahead to make sure.  If you love it let us know in the comments section below. Then hit your local cinema and see Iron Man 2 and let me know if its worth the 10.50 for the movie ticket :)

Stay Tuned as I hit the road with friends in search of other yumminess in the Bridgeport, CT area.  If you miss a posting you can easily find it by searching for YUMMINESS!
