Wedding season is in full swing! I’ve been to two already and I have three more to go! Weddings are happy occasions that I welcome on any day of the week. I look forward to seeing the bride’s dress, eating yummy food and slow dancing with Daniel. This year though, because there are so many at the same time, I’ve had to budget everything that goes into what I would need for their wedding day. It really does add up. I’m not the only one that needs to budget, right?

I am also happy to know that I am not alone in being asked “When are you getting married?” It seems that regardless, if you are single, involved with someone or married there seems to be a question being asked of you.
With the air becoming crisp and cooler and the days growing shorter as the Fall season approaches, fashion trends are beginning to change along with the color of the leaves. Gone are the carefree days of summer filled with sundresses and flip flops, exchanged instead for sweaters, long pants and light jackets. If you have a formal event coming up, searching for the perfect dress to make you stand out from the crowd and make a statement calls for taking a closer look at some of the hottest Fall 2012 fashion trends.
However, before even thinking about fashion trends, the most difficult outfit decision can often be choosing what style of dress to wear. In any case, cocktail dresses are almost always the best option for any type of occasion. Whether you’re attending a wedding, banquet, or holiday party, cocktail dresses are versatile and can be dressed up or down depending on how formal the event is.
Looking for something a little on the edgier side that will make you stand out? Opt for a gold or metallic dress, as both are in season. However, be careful not to overdo your look with too many accessories or jewelry; you don’t want all eyes to be on you for all the wrong reasons! Since the dress itself is most likely to be attention grabbing, pairing it with one or two pieces of jewelry should suffice.
If you’re looking for something to showcase your classy, elegant and sophisticated side, nothing says elegant and classy more than embroidered lace, which was seen on many of the designer dresses on the Fall runways this year. For a more vintage inspired look, pair it with a pearl necklace or earrings.
Have a classic black cocktail dress sitting in the back of your closet? This is perfect as well, because fortunately it never goes out of style! To give your outfit a bit of Fall flare, wear a rich burgundy lip color with it, as this is one of the most popular Fall trends that never fails to go out of style.
