Should We Come with a WARNING Label? PART DOS

Hello!  Upon thinking about this topic some more (Shall We Come with a WARNING Label?), I find it interesting that IF we were in a relationship, and a friend’s mirrored ours, we’d advise them to leave but not take our own advise. For example, if I were dating someone who told me they did not want to commit, and I stuck around because I was in love and believed that it would “all work out in the end”, and my friend told me he was in a relationship with a woman that did not want to commit, but he wanted to stay believing that she would change her mind. I’d advise him to let her go and move on. Explaining that she has already stated that she did not want to be in a relationship, so why believe she’d change her mind. If she didn’t realize already how awesome he was by now, who knows when that would happen, and he’d just be angry in the end. Which he shouldn’t be since she’d already said she didn’t want a relationship to begin with. I would see my situation as being different, because the person I’m in love with, will surely change his mind….not lol Then I’d yell at myself when I snapped out of it.  I’ve done this before so I know.  People tell you who they are, believe them.  Why do we not see these things for ourselves?  And if we do, why does one convince themselves that things will be different this time?  Is it that we secretly want the same thing, to not commit?  When did you realize it was time to let go? If you find yourself in a situation as stated above, ask yourself this, “what are you telling the universe you want?”  I remember watching The Wedding Date, and a line in the movie made so much sense.  The father is talking to Kat, the main character, that is still pining over the man who loved her for seven years and called off their wedding because he was sleeping with her sister(which she never knew), she’d brought an escort to her sister’s wedding (marrying another guy) to make her ex jealous…I remember reading a fascinating articIe in the New York Times Magazine once, where this guy said, “Every woman has the exact love life she wants.” You know what? I agree with him. But I refuse to believe that this is what you want, Kat.’   I do not believe that we want to be in relationships that bring us nothing but misery. The sooner you realize that the faster things will start to change in your life! Focusing on the positive, the happy things you want to come to be, will make it come. If you choose to focus on the negative, all the things you do not want, well guess what, you’ll get what you don’t want. On this terrific day, Focus on what you want, not on what you don’t want.

A penny for your thoughts?  What advice could you give someone trying to end a relationship (officially committed or not)?  How can a person take charge of their love life?

Until then,

These last few weeks, I’ve been going over my New Year’s Resolutions from this year and I realize I’ve just brushed the surface with most of them.  It just occurred to me that I can’t possibly do well on just one goal, if I’m trying to tackle 10 others that I think are all equally important.  In reality most of the items we add to our resolution list are wishes, things we’d like to happen.  However, if they do not happen then we go back to remembering, ‘well they were only wishes anyways’.  I’ve read this in many books, but you don’t really believe it until you take a look at YOU.  So after seeing all my wishes not come true, the list is going to be only two things next year.  The first of course being having healthy finances

What’s sucking your time?

What is sucking your time?
TV is sucking my time :/

It was the best of times and the worst of times.  Last September I caved in and got the DVR from my cable provider. The DVR opened up an entirely different world for me, and after a while I realized I wasn’t doing much else. Every now and then I think to myself that it was the worst decision I could have made. I was perfectly fine with the handful of channels that Cablevision was providing without the cable box. Friends promoting it and the extra five dollars for the box enticed me though. What is an extra five dollars anyways?

A year later and now its an extra ten dollars a month, but I do not think I have the will power to give it up. Back in September and into October I cut my watching the DVR down to an hour a day to study for an exam. The shows I recorded piled up and til this day I have not caught up. This is sadly what I have been doing with my time. Instead of picking up my lap top and writing about all the ideas I say in my head, I watch the DVR. I find myself feeling nervous if I let too many shows stay without being watched. I freak out a little if I cannot find another time listing for a show that happens to fall under the same time as two other shows being recorded. This past weekend I finally made a dent in it and discovered some new shows that I really liked.Instead of feeling sad about getting the DVR, I decided I would make this an Ode to all the talented writers out there that keep me hooked to the TV like an addict. One day I’ll give it up, but right now I’m not ready.

So shows that started this season that I am excited to watch:
Once Upon a Time Terra Nova Ringer Revenge Hart of Dixie Two Broke Girls

Returning Shows that I love:
Bones Covert Affairs Modern Family Happy Endings Blue Bloods Sons of Anarchy Psych Vampire Diaries Nikita Super Natural Grey’s Anatomy Private Practice Body of Proof Mike & Molly Hawaii 5-0 The Real Housewives of Atlanta The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills The Nate Berkus Show Ugly Betty Burn Notice NCIS NCIS Los Angeles

Shows that are on break:
Pretty Little Liars The Nine Lives of Chloe King Suits Royal Pains In Plain Sight White Collar Fairly Legal The Closer Rizzoli and Isles – Jersey Shore – Falling SkiesLeverage

Shows that are on my DVR that I still have not watched yet:
GRIMM PAN AM Secret Circle

I do NOT want to even count how many shows this is and I am more than sure there are shows that I have forgotten to mention; The shows that were recently canceled or were canceled on my DVR myself have shortened my list. I didn’t give any info, aside from the name, on any of the shows because you’d be reading FOREVER, so if you see something that sounds good to you, just click on the show name and it will take you to where you can get more information.

So again, Today I am thankful for all the creative writers out there that keep me addicted to their shows and keep me waiting for the next episode to happen! I find it therapeutic to escape reality for a few minutes or in my case hours a day. What shows can you not live without?  What do you self prescribe for therapy purposes?

Until then,
don’t judge me 🙂
