What’s one of the major perks of a gym membership? The classes, right?! When I was asked to review CrunchLive.com I was excited and curious. Normally when I work out I go to the gym. Depending on my mood AND energy level, I normally do the elliptical or the treadmill. If I’m super motivated walking in, I’ll do some strength training too. Notice I haven’t mentioned taking a class yet. What are you doing now for exercise? Are you in search of something new? Do you work out at home? Read on to see what I loved about Crunch Live.
Why I decided to try out crunchlive.com:
I mentioned that the classes at my gym are the biggest appeal for the membership. I’d love to get into one of the many classes offered BUT I usually have to beat all the other people and their moms to get a space on the workout floor. The crowds are worse than black friday. When I do get into a class, like Yoga, I usually find a spot at the back of the class. The room is packed and I look silly because I’m usually doing my own moves. Do you catch on quick in classes? In order to get in the gym I get up early to be there for 6. Any later and I can’t find parking, even late at night!
The idea of being able to sleep in a little longer or workout in the evenings was a HUGE appeal to trying out the website. I just had to go to www.crunchlive.com and select which class I wanted to go to, hit play and Voilà . . . I’m working out in the comfort of my home. I decided to see if I could access the website from my smart TV and it worked! BONUS! Do you workout at home?
What is Crunch Live?
Crunch Live is an online extension of the collective energy that has been happening for over two decades inside the four walls of all the Crunch gyms across the country each and every day. What we do in our gyms is welcome people of all shapes and sizes to participate in an approach to fitness that is inspiring and engaging. It’s an approach to fitness that gives people the tools they need to reach their goals, whatever they may be, and along the way have a whole lot of fun doing it.

If you answer yes to one or more of the following questions, you need to try crunchlive.com for yourself!
- Are you looking to mix up your workout routine?
- Is your gym far from your house?
- Do you hate getting up early in the morning to go to the gym?
- Do you have only 15 minutes to work out?
- Are you looking for something fun to do?
What I loved:
- I was able to use Crunch Live on my Google Ready TV
- I discovered the next BIG Workout Class: Tabura. Reign is a phenomenal instructor. If she were at my gym I would NOT be able to get up early enough to register for a spot in her class. If I didn’t pick up on a step, I could rewind and rewatch! Have you ever tried to pick up a step in a class at the gym but felt completely lost. Are you raising your hand with me?
- It’s 9.99 a month! This is a third of the price I pay per month for my gym membership now.
- There’s a variety of classes.
- There are beginners classes.
- They’re always adding classes.
- There are 15 minute classes if I’m pressed for time.
- I don’t have to get up at the crack of dawn.
- I don’t have to leave my house.
- I can access it on my phone or laptop when I’m not home.
Tilt your head to watch this video I took while doing the workout explaining Tabura:
What are you doing to shake up your workout routine? Have you tried Crunch Live? Do you have a gym membership?
Until then,
*Free trial was available on 7/30/14 but may be for a limited time.

This looks like so much fun. I’m going to check to see if this channel is on my Roku as well.
Val its not a channel, its a website. I happen to have a smart tv so I just pulled up the web broswer and typed in the URL.
Ok cool. Very nice.
Thanks for sharing this Arelis. My workout routine only involves the treadmill and free weights and I get on the floor for some crunches. But this one looks like fun and if I can do it at home that’s even better.
I’m not a fan of gyms…I would be like you, at the back of the class doing my own thing or getting stuck because of my back LOL.
Have a great day hun!
LOL Corina my friends hate taking me to classes for that reason, I’m always doing my own thing, but that class I took with Reign on the crunch live website was no joke. I was soaking in sweat, it was fun and I actually made it through the whole thing. There are parts where you cool down a bit and if its too much to start you can pause and pick it up later. OR build up, OR pick up another class. The options are limitless since you’re doing it all in the comfort of your own home! Have your girlfriend’s come over and have your own class!
I love the idea of having an online gym!. As a WAHM I do not have the luxury of driving to a gym, nor do I have the means to pay for gym membership. $10/month is doable.
It really is doable! Its great for WAHMs like yourself! Let me know if you end up signing up for the membership!
How fun, I love that you can get the benefits of classes without worrying about traffic, parking, a crowded sweaty room and childcare. The bonus of looking silly alone makes me want to try!
Mama Harris you will not look silly! Traffic and parking alone are two reasons to workout in a class at home!
Yes girl! I sweat so bad and that’s with just trying to find a parking spot. It’s like people park in the most awkward random places and then the gym is STUPID crowded. An online gym with classes definitely sounds good!
I joined the local Y, then it moved miles away. I really like being able to take these classes at home. This is a winner.
I was signed up at a why but it was in the next town over. I would go when I got out of work but now I drive a different route, so I ended up canceling my membership there because I wasn’t going. The Y does have a ton of features and wasn’t as crowded but they were maybe double the cost of the other local gyms. I liked that they had family memberships as well. Sometimes its good to workout with others, but you could definitely work out with your family if you could do it at home.
I hate when gyms relocate! Especially if its far away! Taking classes at home is definitely a perk!
Hmm…I initially joined the gym just for the classes. They are just so FUN and really get you going!! Unfortunately, I didn’t utilize my Y membership remotely enough to justify the monthly cost, so I cancelled. Thankfully, I live in an apartment complex that offers a gym (no classes tho) and WHEN I WORKOUT, I do it there. CrunchLive looks pretty awesome though, especially if there are things like Zumba and Yoga available.
Vaneese, I hear you on the cost of the Y, if you don’t use it you still notice it coming out of your account. CruchLive.com might be a great way to supplement the gym in your complex. Grab some friends in your building who also want classes and charge them a bunch or two to work out with you. You’ll have the gym like atmosphere in the comfort of your own home. Danny and I are looking for a complex with a gym as well, then we’ll be able to cancel our memberships, that’ll help us save some money.
When Daniel and I were looking for an apartment … we fell in love with a complex that had a gym on the premise! I don’t think it included classes though. The classes is what made me switch from where I was to where I am now … but then I find myself never in the classes. So its definitely time for me to switch LOL Crunchlive.com has a little bit for everyone and for all ranges of exercise INCLUDING beginners classes!
gosh, I need something like this. $9.99 / month is definitely cheaper than what I’d pay at a gym! I’m really going to check this out! Thank you!
I’m telling you Brandi, You and Ayva would love the Tabura class! 10 bucks a month could fit in all of our budgets. Let me know if you try out the free trial!
Yes and you don’t have to leave the house and pay for gas or get up at the crack of dawn to sign up for a class! YAY
I love the idea of the online gym. Its a little different than watching dvds or shows on TV because it switches up and if you don't like a class you can go back to the main menu and choose another! And you're so right 10 bucks a month is a great investment in yourself!
