My Papi turned 65 years old this past Friday. On Father’s Day we celebrated all the dads in our lives. While birthdays and Father’s Day helps us think of gifts to honor the men in our lives, do we remember to make sure they’re taking care of their health? If their health is neglected as they age, imagine the medical costs that could create and how that could effect their retirement savings. We want our dads to have a comfortable retirement, right?

Genesis 10
Name after name is called off in Genesis 10. God told Noah that his sons and family were to be fruitful and multiply. It seems that they did just that! As I was reading it though I felt like something was missing. Read on to hear my thoughts on Genesis 10.
The other day I was looking through the showings at the Bow Tie Theater and ran across a movie called Chef. I had never heard of it and wondered what it was about. I clicked the tab for the Storyline and was surprised by the cast. LOTS of Hispanic names including my favorite Modern Family actress, Sofia Vergara. I’d be surprised if you told me you hadn’t seen The Fault In Our Stars yet. When I watched it on Friday the theater was packed with mostly teenagers, guys AND gals. Adults were sprinkled in for good measure. There were little girls sitting in the very first row and some sitting on my right. I was distracted by the talking and the SHUT UPs. It’s one of the reasons why I try to catch the latest matinee showings. When the ushers would make their sweeps of the theater you could hear the crowd of people waiting in line to see the next showing. Do you ever wonder if the health related warnings we’re told as children hold any truth? Or if they’re just old wives tales? Mami always told me that if I left the house with wet hair I’d catch pneumonia. I’ve left the house and the gym almost a million times with wet hair and I have never had pneumonia. This is not to say that it couldn’t play a factor, amongst many factors, that could lead me to get pneumonia. I just haven’t been able to prove her theory. When Heaven Is for Real first came out I had to see what it was about. From the previews I saw that a small boy undergoes surgery and tells his father that he’s seen Jesus AND spent time in heaven. I’ve been sitting on this review because I couldn’t decide what I wanted to point out to you. After several months, I’ve realized why I had such a hard time writing a Heaven Is for Real movie review.
