[Movie Review] The Call with Halle Berry is #DATE NIGHT Approved

Date Night Approved by My Pocketful of Thoughts

It’s no secret that Daniel and I have different tastes in movies, but if I mention that a certain lovely female actress is present then it’s a slam dunk to suggest a movie I’m looking forward to seeing. Thus was the case last Saturday night where we decided to make a movie and dinner date. When he asked me to text him his options on Friday I only sent him one …”The Caller with Halle Berry …did I mention Halle Berry?” Now, I’ve learned you should let your man pick something out… so I let him choose the time we would watch it. It might not seem like I offered him much choice but who doesn’t want to see Halle Berry? LOL

[Movie Review] Should I take my #family to see Oz The Great And Powerful?

Should I take my family to see Oz? Last week this was on the minds of many families, as the Disney Movie Oz The Great And Powerful had its opening debut on Friday. I normally do not watch movies on opening night because I get easily distracted by the large crowds and the person that sits behind me always seems to be fidgety. When I got the call on Friday night from my niece and her dad asking if I wanted to come, I said ‘Sure why not I’ve got my MoviePass(TM)’.

Shutter Island

Mark Ruffalo and Leonardo DiCaprio are excellent in this movie.  Of course supported my a creative cast.  I began watching this movie expecting to be scared out of my mind.  However it was nothing of what I had expected.  It was better!  A total twist in the plot had me looking dumbfounded at the TV screen, I never saw it coming.  That is why, if you haven’t seen it already, it should be rented tonight.  Its so appropriate and not your typical horror flick.  At the end I was left satisfied which seems to happen less and less these days.  Let me know how you like it in the comment section below.

Until then,
Happy Halloween and BE SAFE!

When in Rome

When in Rome (2010)

This romantic comedy features Kristen Bell and Josh Duhamel.  If love were as easy as throwing a coin into a wishing well, we’d all visit Italia.  Rome is the backdrop as Kristen’s character flies there to partake in her sister’s wedding.  After a series of unfortunate events occur, a drunken, disappointed in love,  Beth, grabs a handful of coins from the fountain of love and strange things begin to happen once she’s back home in New York City.  What happens when you take someone’s coin from the wishing well?  Rent the DVD this Friday night to find out and be prepared to laugh!

Let me know what you think in the comment section below.

Daybreakers

Daybreakers (2009)

Featuring Ethan Hawke, as the Vampire who searches for a way to help find a cure to the troublesome dilemma, a low human blood supply.  Imagine that, a world full of vampires; the handful of humans left are either in hiding or hooked up to blood draining machines in the pharmaceutical company that Ethan’s character works for.  Which one would you rather be?
If you are looking for an alternate to the Vampire Sucks Movie, then this dvd might be just the thing for you this Friday night.  You’ll definitely be entertained with this movie.  Will the human race become extinct?  Will vampires turn on each other?  Find out and let me know how you like it.

Across the Hall (2009)

RIP Brittany Murphy, this was one of your last movies to be released and I finally brought myself to watch it the other night.  This movie was recommened to me by a friend.  I saw it in the Redbox vending machine on several occasions but it didn’t do anything for me.  After watching it I was wrong, which goes to prove Never Judge A Movie By Its Cover.  Mike Vogel and Danny Pino’s character’s are caught in a lover’s triangle and how the movie unfolds will leave you in a state of shock and a nod of your head at the end as you agree with me that it is a good movie.  Let me know what you think!
