[Movie Review] 3 #Movies to Watch with Your Sweetheart #pocketThoughts

3 movies to watch with your sweetie

These past few weeks have been brutally hot in Connecticut. This week we’re supposed to see a record 7 day heat wave. Advisory warnings have been in effect almost every day! Daniel and I have been escaping the heat at the theater. Our usually Tuesday date night has expanded to seeing two to three movies per week. We’re not alone though. We’ve noticed an increase in other people hitting the theater to keep cool. If you join us, do you know what to watch?

8 Tips to SAVE you $$$ When Shopping for Wedding Guest Attire

8 tips to save money shopping for wedding attire

How many weddings did you say you were attending this year? Whether its one or six, we need to save as much money as we can. Am I right? The cost of a wedding can be expensive and we can recall from How to Budget when you get the NEXT Wedding Invitation. #WeddingWednesday, how the cost isn’t just in the gift. Travel costs, bachelor parties, and showers/stags are automatic additions to any wedding invitation that comes in the mail. Celebrating My Birthday at @RedDoorSpas with American Express Reward Points

How I used my American Express Membership RewardsThis year I wanted to something special for myself to celebrate turning another year younger. We tend to go through life, living day to day without taking a minute to just indulge. Well, to be totally honest, I do indulge, perhaps too much but its nice to do something extra special every now and then. When you’re on a budget though, something extra special cost …extra. If you follow me on FourSquare or Instagram, then you know Daniel and I spent the weekend in NYC celebrating our birthdays. Where does one go to indulge in NYC? How about the Red Door Spa on 5th Avenue?

Don’t FORGET to Pray for the Clergy

pray for clergy

It’s official, my favorite member of the clergy at St. George’s is leaving this Monday. Over the last three years Mother Blessed Sacrament (AKA Mother) has helped me grow spiritually and emotionally. I’ve learned from her and her actions that God really does not give us anything more than we can handle! Prayer is so powerful y’all! When I would seek advice on aspects of my life that were weighing heavy on my heart, she’d reassure me that God was working it out and that she’d pray for me. This weekend I got to thinking, who prays for her?

How to Budget when you get the NEXT Wedding Invitation.

how to budget for the next wedding invitation

Wedding season is in full swing! I’ve been to two already and I have three more to go! Weddings are happy occasions that I welcome on any day of the week. I look forward to seeing the bride’s dress, eating yummy food and slow dancing with Daniel.  This year though, because there are so many at the same time, I’ve had to budget everything that goes into what I would need for their wedding day. It really does add up. I’m not the only one that needs to budget, right?

What to Wear to the NEXT Bridal Shower!

What to wear to the NEXT Bridal Shower.

When I got my friend’s invitation to her Bridal Shower, the instructions said “Dress to Impress… don’t forget your hat!” I envisioned a glamorous vision of pearls, red lipstick, and a fabulous black hat that Jennifer Lopez might wear. Notice what’s missing from my vision? What I couldn’t see was my dress. How many invitations have you gotten and you thought to yourself, what am I going to wear?
